The Charity Navigator touts itself as an “independent charity evaluator”. It is a site where people can evaluate the financial health of America’s largest charities and make more informed contribution decisions. It’s also a great place to learn about all the different charities that suit your passions.

A great search engine to find the volunteer opportunity that matches what and where you can give.
Also recommended to me…
American Friends Service Committee
The American Friends Service Committee carries out service, development, social justice, and peace programs throughout the world. Founded by Quakers in 1917 to provide conscientious objectors with an opportunity to aid civilian war victims, AFSC’s work attracts the support and partnership of people of many races, religions, and cultures.

May I recommend American Friends Service Committee?
