The Giving List

These are a list of just a few of the very worthwhile organizations to consider donating your time or money to. If you have other suggestions please let me know.

To Donate:

Charity Navigator
The Charity Navigator touts itself as an “independent charity evaluator”. It is a site where people can evaluate the financial health of America’s largest charities and make more informed contribution decisions. It’s also a great place to learn about all the different charities that suit your passions.

Doctors without Borders
Doctors Without Borders/Médecins Sans Frontières (MSF) is an independent international medical humanitarian organization that delivers emergency aid to people affected by armed conflict, epidemics, natural or man-made disasters, or exclusion from health care in more than 70 countries.

Right to Play
Right To Play is an athlete-driven international humanitarian organization that uses sport and play as a tool for the development of children and youth in the most disadvantaged areas of the world.

Save Darfur
The Save Darfur Coalition’s mission is to raise public awareness about the ongoing genocide in Darfur and to mobilize a unified response to the atrocities that threaten the lives of two million people in the Darfur region.

Volunteer Match
A great search engine to find the volunteer opportunity that matches what and where you can give.

Also recommended to me…

American Friends Service Committee
The American Friends Service Committee carries out service, development, social justice, and peace programs throughout the world. Founded by Quakers in 1917 to provide conscientious objectors with an opportunity to aid civilian war victims, AFSC’s work attracts the support and partnership of people of many races, religions, and cultures.
